Capacitor is the native runtime underneath modern Ionic apps — and increasingly underneath React, Vue, and plain web apps that never touch Ionic's UI components. Capacitor 8 is the current major. Capacitor consulting

• Architecture reviews. Is the app structured so that native code stays thin and testable? Are you using the official and Capawesome plugin ecosystems well, or carrying Cordova shims you no longer need?
• Performance. Startup time, WebView configuration, large-list rendering, image and file handling across the WebView bridge, and the native-side profiling in Xcode Instruments and Android Studio that web developers often skip.
• Upgrades. Capacitor majors arrive roughly yearly and each one raises the Xcode, Android Gradle Plugin, and Node requirements. We run npx cap migrate, fix what it cannot, and leave you with a documented upgrade checklist.
• Platform compliance. Privacy manifests on iOS, target API levels and 16 KB page-size support on Android, edge-to-edge layout with the System Bars plugin introduced in Capacitor 8.

Custom plugin development

When you need hardware or a native SDK that has no plugin — Bluetooth peripherals, payment terminals, a vendor's native analytics SDK, background processing beyond what the web can do — we write the plugin:

• TypeScript API designed for your app, not a generic wrapper
• Swift implementation for iOS, Kotlin for Android, with a web fallback where one makes sense
• Unit tests on the native side and documentation so your team can maintain it
• Published to your private registry or, if you prefer, open-sourced

Migrating Cordova plugins

Most legacy apps carry a few Cordova plugins with no direct Capacitor equivalent. Capacitor can load many Cordova plugins unchanged, but not all, and some only appear to work. We audit each one, decide whether to keep it, replace it, or rewrite it as a native Capacitor plugin, and we handle the plugins that need preferences or manifest changes to behave under Capacitor.

Beyond Ionic

If your team is on React or Vue without Ionic's components, or is adding a native shell to an existing web app, Capacitor is still the right tool and we are still the right consultants. We have wrapped Next.js and Nuxt apps, single-page enterprise dashboards, and PWAs that needed store presence.
